When the Student Is Ready, the Teacher Will Appear

I find that singing bowls make me aware of the peace and balance of things. As I was reading and listening to Sam Torode’s narration of the Tao Te Ching, I noticed there were singing bowls in the background and looked on Apple Music. I will remind myself that I had tried this in the past and found all playlists to be very harsh. Even when fining one less harsh and diving deeper into that album or artist still produced results that were too harsh. Yet, yesterday, I found this playlist ‎Singing Bowls - Playlist - Apple Music. It is perfect.

I smile or laugh when I come to these moments of clarity or inspiration or notice the things that otherwise I would take for granted as natural rewards of awareness or the Tao. Finding the right playlist when you are ready to find it is a perfect example. When you are ready for the path, the path will find you. When you are ready to learn, knowledge will find you. When you are ready to become aware, the awareness will find you. Precipitating any of these through obsessive learning results in empty knowledge, clerverness as the Tao calls it. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
